I would love to work with someone that has this ability to speak. There is a wonderful future for gaming and its not going to come to us by us just sitting on our butts waiting for something to happen. I just played Fallout 3, and as a Fallout fan of the first game, i was highly dissapointed so many things about the story, dialouge, and plot. And even the music.

Try "Hamlet on the Holodeck" by Janet Murray or some of the papers by Eric Zimmerman. Those are what we're using as reference in my Narrative in New Media class.

Psychonauts beyong good and evil, half life are amazing games and some of the best EVER (my opinion not urs) and when ever people agree with me that they are good but people dont appreciate them, and would rather shoot a terrorist evry 5 seconds, it makes me sad. So sad i bother to right this comment.

I like both kinds of games, I am a fan of both Psychonauts and Painkiller. I think that any game can be fun, as long as it is done well.

eternal sonata the theory is amazing a real composer in death dream. but the directing is crap. i love the theme. they delivered a good lesson to audience with great musics but dialogues were a bit cheesy.

It didn't have a great story. It was cliche to the extreme, with plot holes around every corner. I was left asking dozens of questions and none of them were answered.

To be honest, HL2 does not have a goo... Actually it doesn't have a story. Yeah, there's the pretty good setting and very awesome characters, but there really isn't anything into it. A mute physicist running from point A to point B in a orange power armor. Anyways, good presentation. I didn't quit watching it.

Daniel Floyd never said Half-life 2 had a good story, just that it had good writing. It was paced very well, and told with a subtlty and immersian that was done very skillfully.

And I never said that Half-life 2 even had a storyline. It was basically just about the unlikely hero going through the timeline. Meeting people and shooting things. That doesn't count to me as a story. Though this changed in ep1, which in my honest opinion was like hundreds of times better than than the original HL2. Ep2 was great too but felt a bit like the bridge between ep1 and hopefully awesome ep3.

I showed this to a videoblogging friend of mine who hardly ever plays games. Her response? "You've turned my thinking about video games around." Congratulations! I'm pretty sure this is exactly the type of goal you had in mind when you made these. When I start making mine next semester, I hope to achieve the same thing.

hmmmm....i c what you mean, i was a little mad when you said that resident evil wasnt a great storyteller but when i think about it, i only play it because it is a good shooter and gore game that has potential to scare you sometimes but thats not storytelling now is it lol. well great vid A+ from me

Many storydriven games has suffered from poor gameplay, and gameplay is the bread and butter of a good game. So, if a game with great story has have subpar gameplay, chances are that it won't do to well. But now that developers are very good to create gameplay, gameplay alone won't cut. Good graphics are very common and not that special. Perhaps stories are the new thing to set you apart from the rest, explaning why games with story are starting to do well.
