i don;t know about you guys, but i always tell my friends that after this montage, like literally 7 minutes of non-stop emotion and beautiful imagery, it's almost like you get a perfect, reflectful/lamentful breath of fresh air after the music montage sequence ends, with hawkeye and chingachcook on the cliff. wonderful end to a superb piece of cinema history!!!

The scene of the fight and that trial they are on is part of a park in North Carolina called "Chimney Rock." The cool thing is that, if you go there, you can hike EXACTLY on the same trail as where this segment was filmed.
I lived in N.C. for many years and it is an AWESOME place to go! The waterfall you see in the background is called Hickory Nut Falls, and they are SO high up! People have often gotten too close and done exactly what happened to Uncas & Alice!!
It really is a cool place!
