IMO it`s the most thrilling movie ever recorded. The jump itself raises bloodpressure so much! - really good camera work BTW, but then, the unexpected part, the tremendous fight, fall and the sounds evoke such emotions, ... Rispek! #1 for me!!! No Hollywood movie can achieve such authenticity...

His parachute failed to deploy fully so i doubt it even slowed him down, could have been a line twist. Poor fucker, if it wasnt enough goin in he bounced and went back out before hitting down again! Lucky man, he swears to continue jumpin even after this, legand!

I noticed from most of the wingsuit base jumping videos on youtube that the flyers hugged the terrain very closely. In many occasions, they could turn towards the open space, but they did the opposite. What is the reason for that? Trying to get better thermal lift? Just trying to get higher adrenaline rush? Will the flyers get the ground-effect for extra lift?

Yeah it's got to do with ground effect. Get close enough and you'll ride the cushion of air between you and the ground.

In spite of popular belief, it doesnt cost the tax payers any extra to save a base jumper. The norwegian rescue helicopters are given a certain amount of flight hours a year to be spent on either training or real missions. the only difference a basejumping accident makes is how many hours goes to training and how many goes to real missions.

Ground effect only works to a height equal to the wingspan of the airplane. For a wingsuit, you'd have to be within 4' of the ground to get any effect.
