There is nothing wrong with hips. I am a latin dancer and an Israeli dancer. OS I do hips and arms and all that and I think hey as long as you do the steps right you can add a little hip here and there

To see young teen Israeli girls and boys perform the hora at the Rehovot 60 Yom haAtzmaut festival in a video here is a pleasure. They do not need lessons. They are probable part of an arts school in Rehovot. Look for the yellow dresses.

What could Israeli Folk dance possibly be? The country was only invented 60 years ago,
Why would folk ... ( 5 months ago by PeteBagheera)
Why would folk dance have to be more than 60 yours old? One of the nice things about Israeli Folkdance is that it is contemporary. But the dances are still made much in the same way, so it is still Folkdance. Also quite a few of the Israeli folkdances originated from before Israel was formed. The Jewish traditions are older than Israel. You can also see that in the older Israeli folkdances there are influences from all diffrent parts of the world. From Spain, Russia, Yemen, to name a few.
Folk means people. ... ( 4 months ago by nelsoneas)
Folk means people. Israelis (from Israel) are a people conformed of MOSTLY jews from many different ethnic and country origins. You have from african Israelis, European ones and lately a lot of LATIN ones (from Argentina, M
รฉxico, Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela). Israeli folk is probably the most dynamic folk dance in the world because it blends in all these others. Now, if you talk about biblical Israel (the people, not just the land), the dances are up to around 3800 years old. Old enough for ya?
the uniqueness of ... ( 3 months ago by albifalasteen)
the uniqueness of folk dances is what makes them beautiful.this is not unique i do not see anything special about this "dance".
since the israelis have just recently formed their terretories on the Palestinian lands, i dont think theyve had enough time to create their own traditions.. a big blend is not a unique style. i think time matters a lot when you're talkin about tradition. im palestinian and i do not mix islam wit
h my traditions.. so your folk dance has nothing to do with judaism
