Ya know the ironic thing is in 2008 all the Xbox's were updated to not have hardly any problems. Too bad for you dude...if you got another one and you kept the warranty, whenever it breaks (which it probably won't) just sned it back and get another one. If your not 100% sure, just get a Elite? its most likely the fact that you have your xbox sitting on top of a vcr, like any other electrical appliance that will screw up your xbox. Try not having it on or near any other electrical appliances. Just having it in an open area to help ventilation wont help if theres another electrical appliance that close to. Try it and good luck hopefully it hasen't been messed up so bad that it won't still work
