that jam is my absolute favourite after rapper's delight. love that synthbass line and the guitar and clavinet riff, especially in the end where the mc's stop. by the way, who did the female rap part? was it sylvia robinson?

imo sugarhill gang is one of the first fakes in hip-hop history. let me give you an example: jam on crew (aka newcleus) were djing in the ny scene. they did this mix with the funky bassline from 'chic-good times' and several cuts. this was took over exactly on 'rappers delight'. jam on presented "jam on it" in the streets of ny....now compare with rapper's reprise....i respect sampling, like bambaataa did, as a part of hip-hop culture but sugarhill are nuthing but thieves.
