Rifle $500, Scope ... ( 1 year ago by pigman50)
Rifle $500, Scope $450 (ebay) trigger $125 rifle basix ebay again, bipod $65 I love this scope, at 461 yds last year i bagged my first deer with this setup. I was able to identify him as a legal buck at this distance and took him down with one shot. Only downside is the minimum power is 8X, too magnified for close quarters woods hunting, not that this 11 lb rifle is much fun to carry hunting but its all about being a tuff guy. I got one of these scopes on my .50 bmg too.

This sounds almost like a master card commerical. I've never taken anything at that distance, 300 was my max but still If I had the cash I would love to spend it on a setup like this. Where I hunt however it is mostly close ceader so I use my Mosin Nagant sans scope since I rarely get a hundred yard shot at anything.

so how do you know for sure that the deer was shot at 461 yards huh? what if the deer fell away from you when you shot it? then it would have only been 460! lol

i would suggest you get a laser range finder, built up your drop table, use a ballistic software program like sierra or sumting so you dont waste alot of bullets and get a scope with turret adjustments such as the Bushnell Elite in 10x with big turrets or else go for a Leupold Mk4 or a S&B 4-16Police marksman with P2 reticle and a spotting scope. anemometers can help you out with the wind.
