clearly rooney has better speed and shooting accuracy..rooney is all round better than messi....rooney has proved himself to be man among men in euro 2004..messi has not (and dont tell me about that youth world cup crap)..its not equivalent to a compeition for men. rooney has skill, power, the ability to tackle,and danger all over the field...he attacks when you least expect. He can beat men as he has proven...do not be fooled by this season...let him play as a centre forward or in scholes role.

You can't compare these players as they have two completely different styles of play. For a start Messi is a shadow striker that cuts in from the right and loves to dribble because he is clearly capable. On the other hand, Rooney is also a shadow striker but plays down the center and likes to pick out players with great passing and positions himself for wingers to cross in to him. I am a hardcore Man Utd. fan through and through and I will say that Messi is GOD, and better than Rooney (for now).

Theres no question Messi is alot better than Rooney. Rooney is so overrated, he played well in euro 2004 but look at him now, hes a joke and hes fat from going to the pub all the time. When ever i see him play he always loses the ball, makes bad passes and struggles to get past the defence. He was great in euro 2004 but now hes lost it.
