Overall, it isn't. Nitpick it all you want...you can't just cut everyone's taxes and still make things run. There isn't a magic money machine. Government needs revenue. Obama is just going to roll back the Bush tax cuts a bit for those who, by far, benefited the most from them. Personally, I think we need to have EVERYBODY'S taxes raised, eliminate the Bush tax cuts and undo the damage done over the last 8 years. He started in the black, now it's record red.

peaviner, It's raising taxes if you make more than $250,000. That's reversing the Bush tax cuts for the ultra wealthy. You know the taxes that have driven the econemy down. We used to worry about how to retire or send our kids to college. Now we worry about how to pay for gas to get to work.

I am Canadian and although I dont vote, I hope that our American friends vote for Obama because simply he would be the best for their great country. You apparently don't know your history. FDR was extremely unpopular for a lot of the things he did in office. Only in our history books is FDR portrayed as this ever-popular, do-no-wrong head of state. He had a couple of brief periods where he enjoyed high ratings, but he was unpopular for much of his career as president.

The nice thing about having a dem in office is that the dems don't blindly support their leaders like the republicans do. Obama is going to have some serious oversight and you can include myself as part of it. On the other hand, republicans will hate him no matter what. I think the first part of this speech should be called the "All across America" speech and I think it should be used for the State of the Union address. It is powerful in a way reminiscent of Dr. King.
