lol. do you want to know why rugby union players arnt allowed to shoulder charge? its because the size differences in players are so great. what do you think would happen if a 6ft 6 forward shoulder charged a 5ft 10 back? the back would get killed. compare this to rugby league where there are very few large guys. willy mason is the biggest in the nrl and he would b considered a soft forward in union.

Shoulder charging was never made illegal in Rugby Union because of player sizes fwds vs backs ? Shoulder charges havn't always been illegal in Union it use to be ok in NZ and Auz, it was Europe where it first became illegal after a player lost his footing and as he was falling fwd he was hit by a shoulder (which really wasn't a typical shoulder charge) but the guy choked on his tounge and died.. it still took a while to make the rule change but thats where it started in Europe.
