The mujahedeen rebellion was already 18 months old by the time the Red Army invaded. | You make a good point Psycarne, but the movie actually shows that the US was supporting Afghanistan, just not a lot. It was only a side job, until the Soviet invasion. Then the covert war in Afghanistan got a lot more funding. |

I've seen a photo showing a U.S soldier kicking a kid who wasn't more than 10 years old. There were also cases of civilians being shot by U.S forces when they protested the invasion of their country before and during the battle of Mogadishu. |

| USSR actually did a good job during this war. They controlled the country for 10 years, lost 14 thousand people (against 50 US soldiers in Vietnam).They left. There was no reason to stay in these mountains, no political reason(anymore), no economical reasons, and obvious issues inside USSR. So i dont really understand why this movie is so proud of this war and tries to make it look like some kind of great victory? arent u guys fighting those to whom u gave weapons now? proud of ur own mistake? |
