and i get a kick out of Russian equipment lovers that continuously boast that their tank, fighters, helicopters are the best. yet every time Russian equipment is pitted against US equipment, they not only lose, but demonstrate that they can not match the high tech hardware used by the US. combat is not an air show, the ability to acquire a target, lock onto it, and fire a weapon on target wins battles, not fancy maneuvers intended to impress onlookers. heli vs heli, the edge goes to the AH64D.

Bah! This show is pure propaganda, its so obvious they didnt show the KA-50 and MI-28 just so they can put the Apache on the 1st place. And even some of the information is false, for example: they say the Apache can carry 16 Hellfires and 76 70mm unguided rockets which just isnt true. If you put 16 Hellfires you cant have any unguided rockets. "Iraqis surrendering to the Apache without a fight" I mean please!

Survivability?! Lol it was shot down by AK fire in Iraq, thats some survivability right there! Innovation?! Whats so innovative about it? Its not much different from the Cobra exept that it has more modern avionics and electronics.

not the best combat-proven chopper, they talk
about Iraq war, Take it to high altitude mountains in Chechnia,the Rebels will shoot it down in a minute, in fact any rotor tail chopper performs real bad in high altitude,
and there's definitely not defense against
rebels equiped with Igla portable launchers!

I agree, coaxial design offers unique stabiliy
and performance, appache is american product
wrapped in fancy marketing but no much content, you are much more likely to survive
in a kamov even if you are severely hit

Of course you are, the KA-50/52 are far better armored than the Apache and can withstand more fire and even have ejection seats, the Apache doesnt.

Yes, both KA-50 and KA-52 have ejection seats. When the ejection seat is activated the rotor blades and cockpit glass are blown off so the pilot/pilots can be ejected safetly. The seats are specially designed to be able to eject the pilot from 0 altitude so no matter how low the helicopter is flyi

i dont care wat the video says or shows about it. thats not my source. they surrendered upon sight to them. a high ranking officer commented on it saying sumthing like "well i'd surrender to just look at those ugly things."

I'm probably biased considering I fly 64s, but I can honestly say that the technology and survivability of the longbow blows my mind. Its ability to deliver steel on target is unrivaled by any other airframe. MI-24s are a bit out-dated, and although the KA-50 is impressive for soviet standards it still falls short of the 64 in my opinion. As high of a workload that flying an attack helicopter demands, there is no way one Kamov pilot can perform as well as two Apache pilots working together.

Almost every single system in the Apache is double and sometimes triple redundant. For every system there is a backup, or even two in some cases. It's extremely durable.

And to be honest, comparing the MI-24 and the AH-64D is like comparing apples to oranges. The HIND is an armored troop carrier designed to deliver and support ground troops. The Apache has one purpose, to shoot the enemy square in the teeth.

The duplication of systems is nothing new, every modern helicopter has duplicated vital parts including the Hind. I agree with you about comparing the MI-24 and the AH-64D, but you have to admit that the Hind still packs a lot of punch and is not to be taken lightly. Dont get me wrong, the Apache is a good helicopter (definitely among the best), but i dont think its the best.
