Just my opinion, possibly the lyrics "you are the girl that i been dreamin of ever since i was a little girl..", reference to his adolescence, kind of an equal as a little girl,no balls no courage, not being a man. Now he's a man with confidence and drive, pursuant of the "girl" of his dreams. makes sense, plus fits the rhyme scheme. just a thought.
